We think that geekSessions events are pretty cool. But don’t just take our word for it: here’s a glimpse at what other people have to say.

The presentations and discussions were great, especially if you were interested in the technology and understood what a load balancer was.

Worth Attending? Definitely. geekSesions is an awesome event to learn a lot and meet incredibly bright geeks… It’s my favorite event because of the amazing people who attend.”

There was great content at this event and it definitely held true to its name — a session with geeks, in the technical sense.

A bunch of us from meebo traveled up to San Francisco and mingled with the attendants and fellow panelists. The crowd was very ops/sysadmin oriented and people were pretty interested in how different companies (VideoEgg, Digg, and Friendster/Socializr) dealt with growth, scaling, and performance.

Ron Gorodetzky of Digg along with others from VideoEgg, Friendster, and Meebo get together at this month’s geekSessions in San Francisco to talk about how to scale websites and survive the mystical traffic “hockey stick”. Christian Perry does it again! His new event, Geeksessions, had 4 panelists discussing the scalability of Ruby on Rails this evening. It was well organized with many great attendees, but took on a much more technical crowd in comparison to those at sfbeta and newtech.

I got to go to the Geek Sessions event on scaling Rails tonight. There were many good people there, and it was nice to put a face to some of the names.

The event went off without a hitch: it was well attended, City Club is a classy place, and there was decent food and an open bar.
